SKU: N/A Category:

Truss clips (38 mm and 47 mm) are light-duty galvanised steel connectors used to attach roof trusses, girders, or rafters to timber wall plates. They provide wind/uplift restraint and resist lateral forces.

Key Specifications:

  • Material: 0.9 mm pre-galvanised mild steel (Z275 or equivalent).
  • 38 mm version: Suited for ~38 mm wide timber members; typical dimensions approx. 38 mm (width) × 100 mm (length) × 107 mm (height).
  • 47 mm version: Suited for ~47 mm wide timber members; typical dimensions approx. 47 mm (width) × 100 mm (length) × 107 mm (height).
  • Fasteners: Usually fixed with 6 nails (e.g. 3.75 × 30 mm square twist) into the truss/rafter and 6 into the wall plate. Features elongated holes for easier nailing and a locating prong for temporary positioning.
  • Performance: Typical characteristic uplift capacity around 3.3 kN (values vary by timber species, loading, and region; safe working loads often ~2.1 kN short-term).

Common uses: Wind restraint in roofing, timber-to-timber connections where members cross, or strongback attachments. They prevent damage from skew nailing and can be installed on either side of the wall plate.
